Communitywide Disaster Drill

COMMUNITYWIDE DISASTER DRILL

On Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. the Culver City Communitywide Disaster Drill will put emergency preparedness into action with a focus on evacuation operations.

During the exercise, Culver City CERT and CCARES volunteers will work alongside the Culver City Police and Fire Departments to practice the coordination and communication needed during an emergency evacuation. The drill will include evacuation support, emergency communications, and other volunteer roles that may be activated during a real-world incident.

The exercise will take place at El Marino Park and in the surrounding neighborhood. As part of the drill, residents in the area may hear Culver City’s Hi-Lo Audible Warning System, which is used to alert the community when an evacuation is necessary.

 

This is only a drill, and no action is required from residents. A CulverAlerts text/email notification will be sent at the beginning and conclusion of the exercise to let residents know that emergency sounds and activity in the area are part of the scheduled drill. This exercise will help our city teams and volunteers practice how we will work together when it matters most, so we’re ready to best respond when our community needs us.
